HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST ME TO GET ON SALEM FIBER?
Become a charter member of Salem Fiber and your installation is FREE! Charter members signup as soon as it is available when we are still working in your neighborhood. Watch for a notification to become a charter member and save $100.
WHEN WILL IT BE AVAILABLE AT MY HOUSE?
We hope to connect our first customers in May of 2021 but it will take about three years to complete the build and have fiber available to every home in Salem. Checkout our progress page to learn more about where we are at in the project. and check back to our website for coming schedules and maps.
WHAT IS "FIBER TO THE HOME"?
Salem Fiber will run a dedicated fiber optic cable to your house to provide the fastest, most upgradable Internet access possible. You will experience the Internet in a new improved way that you have never had before and when your demand grows fiber is ready to deliver.
DO I NEED A FIBER TO MY HOUSE?
Yes! A fiber provides the ultimate Internet experience. The speed is unrivaled and the reliability is beyond compare. While other Internet technologies struggle to keep up with customer demands fiber always delivers the fastest and most reliable service.
ARE YOU GOING TO DIG UP THE STREETS?
The installation will use directional boring to minimize disruption to residents. Fortunately, Salem has been installing fiber conduit for over a decade and that foresight is really going to pay-off. We will be in your way at times and we ask for your patience but believe us, it will be worth it!
WHAT KIND OF FIBER NETWORK ARE YOU INSTALLING?
If you want the fastest, most reliable and upgradable fiber network you have to build an Active Ethernet system. It requires a separate fiber for each customer but running so much fiber makes the best network possible. The reward is no congestion or shared bandwidth.
WHO IS SALEM FIBER?

HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST?

ARE YOU RAISING TAXES TO PAY FOR IT?
No, Salem Fiber does not use tax dollars. The system will be paid for by the residents who take the service. Nobody is required to take Salem Fiber but once you try it you'll know how great the Internet can be.
HOW FAST IS IT?
You can choose the speed you want from 250 Mbps to 10 Gbps. And the service is the same speed up and down, unlike so many FTTH systems. You gotta try it to believe it. And just wait, we are going to get even FASTER!
